Voris Samuel Auxier of St. James, Mo. passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Voris Samuel Auxier was 93 years and 10 months of age.
Voris Samuel Auxier was born on August 17, 1921 in Toledeo, Illinois to his parents: Samuel Enoch and Lydia Dolly Dyer Auxier. Voris Samuel was united in marriage to Anna Laurine Deluca on November 13, 1942 in Hannibal, Missouri.
Voris Samuel proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He flew 33 missions as a tailgunner over Germany during
that time. Over the years, he had tried his hand at many differentjobs, until he mastered one. He started his own plastering and contracting business. Since then he has shared his knowledge of the trade with his sons and grandsons. Voris Samuel will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Voris Samuel Auxier is survived by his wife: Anna Laurine Auxier; five sons: Samuel Joseph Auxier and wife Vera Jean of St. James, Mo.; William Enick Auxier (Judy Boggs) of St. James, Mo.; Joseph Henry Auxier and wife: Margaret Mary of Greenville, Michigan; Jack Neuman Auxier of St. James, Mo.; Thomas Steven Auxier (Kimberly Hill) of Cuba, Mo.; two daughter:Judith Ann Wilson of St. James; Diane Lee Borscha and Mike of Vienna, Mo.; along with 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. and many nieces, nephews and cousins on the DeLuca side.
Preceding Voris Samuel Auxier in death is his parents; three brothers: Elmer; Omer J.; and Denver J. Auxier; sister: Laura Olive Jones and daughter-in-law: Rebecca Auxier; daughter-in-law: Lucy Auxier; son-in-law: Stuart Wilson; and one grandchild: Marie D. Wilson.
Services
Visitation for Voris Samuel Auxier will be on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 5 - 8 P.M. at the Jones Fuenral Home in St. James, Mo.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Dan Copeland officiating. Pallbearers will be: Sammy Auxier, Jody Auxier; Steven Wilson, Donald Borscha, Jacob Auxier, Matthew Auxier, Brian Auxier, Kyle Auxier, Luke Auxier, and Tommy Auxier. Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Wishon Cemetery in rural St. James, Mo.
Memorials maybe be made to the St. James V.F.W. 5608 of St. James, Mo. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
