Loren Weaver Legg

Loren Weaver Legg of St. James, MO passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at the St. James Living Center in St. James, MO.  He was 83 years, 2 months, and 13 days of age.
Loren, the son of the late Ernest and Claudine Weaver Legg, was born August 22, 1933 in Wayne City, IL.  He was united in marriage to Mary Iloine Hoffmeister on May 10, 1958 in Hernando, MS, and to this union, three children were born.

Loren is survived by his wife, Mary Iloine of St. James, MO; three sons:  Tony Legg and wife, Susan of New Haven, MO, Jerry Legg and wife, Deborah of St. James, MO, and Jeff Legg and wife, Zinna of Ashland, MO; two grandchildren:  Amber and Andrew and four great grandchildren:  Seth, Caileigh, Abigail, and Aiden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lowell Legg and four sisters: Bernadine Devore, Verna Rossi, Mary Smith and infant sister.

He was married to his wife, Iloine for over 58 years, and he helped raise 3 sons. Along with being a very involved family man, he had time for his many business. He was involved in several businesses which included Sinclair Gas Station, L&L Food Market, Kemper Insurance office, L&L Diversified, D&J Country Cooking, plus more.  He was also very active in the community.  He was also a former St. James City Councilman, a member of the Moose lodge, and St. James Jaycees.  He was also very active in the St. James Masonic Lodge 230 AF and AM having served as a Past Master of the Lodge.  He also drove a school bus for the St. James R-1 school district.  He served his country in the United States Army for three years.  He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupational Medal (Germany), and Marksman Badge (Carbine).

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel  in St. James, MO with Rick Mosher officiating.  Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 8, 2016 with Masonic Services at 7:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.  Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Memorials may be given to the St. James Masonic Lodge 230 AF & AM.
