Genevieve Loretta Southard

Genevieve Loretta Southard of St. James, Mo. passed away at her home on July 20, 2016.  She was 87 years, 7 months, and 19 days of age.

Genevieve Southard was born on December 1, 1928 to her parents: Arthur and Ima Parrish Moreland.  She was united in marriage to Odell E. Southard in Salem, Arkansas.  

Genevieve Southard was a life long resident of the Vichy community and Broadway Baptist Church.  She worked at the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. James for 15 years as a cook.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Genevieve Southard is survived by her son David Southard and wife Diana of St. James, Mo.; three grandchildren: Arthur, Ashley and Ginger and three great-grandchildren: Raiden, Liam, and Aubree along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Genevieve Southard in death are her parents: Arthur and Ima Parrish Moreland; her husband: Odell E. Southard on January 22, 1978. one brother: Roy Moreland on April 10, 2003 and one sister: Marie Chambers.

Genevieve Southard will lie in state on Saturday, July 23, 2016 from 6 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2 PM at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Mo. Pallbearers will be Clarence Southard Jr., Donnie Chambers, Derek Peterman, Don Chambers, Mark Chambers, and Brian Hughes,  Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery near Rolla, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to the Broadway Baptist Church in St. James, Mo.
