Yvonne Kay (Plemmons) McEwen

Yvonne Kay (Plemmons) McEwen passed away Sept 28, 2023 at 8:55 pm in St Louis MO, at the age of 81.

She was born April 19, 1942 in St James, MO to Nile and Ethel (Spurgeon) Plemmons.

Her legacy lives on through her children, Anita (Cain) Vannatta of St Louis, Mo. Kevin Cain and Angela (McEwen) Broyles both of St James. 8 Grandchildren Mekeysha, Myka, Ian, Heather, David, Katie, Christofer and Derrick. 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. 3 sisters Karen Swarvar, of Fairview Texas, Wenona Carney of Rolla, Mo, Lisa Gan and Husband Mike, 1 brother Don Plemmons and wife Anita of St James. Lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nile and Ethel (Spurgeon) Plemmons, Brother In Laws Larry Swarvar and Bill Carney.

Yvonne attended John F. Hodge High School and had many talents. She worked as a floral designer, school bus driver, OTR truck driver, hair stylist, restaurant owner, and shrimp fisherwoman to name a few. She had a passion for crafting and was constantly making something, from clothes to key rings. She was a Jack of all trades, willing to take on any project. In the last few years, she found immense joy in creating beautiful bright pictures with her gel pen colorings.

Visitation for Yvonne will be at 10:00 a.m. am Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St James, Mo.

Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, with Pastor Stephen Brubaker officiating. Yvonne's favorite hymns will be played for the service.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials have been given to the Phelps County Animal Rescue, in honor of her love for animals. Cards are available at the funeral Home.
