Vivian Louise Ridenhour of St. James, MO passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at Silverstone Nursing Home in Rolla, MO. She was 82 years of age.

Vivian was the daughter of the late John and Beulah (Jones) Carter; she was born September 23, 1940 in Safe, MO.

Vivian was united in marriage to Nolan Malone on February 10, 1962, he entered into rest June 13, 1973. Vivian was then united in marriage to Charles “Lindy” Ridenhour and his five-year-old son, Kyle, on February 21, 1976; Lindy entered into rest June 14, 1996. She then had a long-time companion of twenty-three years, Cornell Licklider. Cornell entered into rest February 1, 2020.

Vivian was well known in St. James for working at the Tourist Information Center and the City Hall for many years. She delighted in tending to her garden and viewing her favorite soap operas. Vivian was a member of High Gate Baptist Church for twenty plus years and the St. James First Baptist Church prior to that. She loved a visit from anyone but especially her grandkids. She loved her family dearly. She and her sisters had shared a special bond. They would call each other multiple times a day. Vivian’s heart was broken after the recent passing of her sisters, Louise and Patsy, she was ready to join them at their heavenly home.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Beulah; her husband Nolan Malone; her husband Charles “Lindy” Ridenhour; her longtime companion Cornell Licklider; sisters: DeLores Lange, Mona “Wanda” Asher, Maude “Louise” Meadows, and Patsy Morelock; as well as granddaughter: Kelly Hays. She is survived by her two sons: Les Ridenhour and wife, Linda of St. James and Kyle Ridenhour and wife, Loni of St. James; daughters: Sharon Clements of Erin, TN and Anita Dixon and husband, Walter of Erin, TN; as well as brother-in-law: Jr. Meadows of St. James. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, as well as many great and great-great-grandchildren.
