Shirley Ann (Frey) Kuntz

Shirley was born in St. James, Missouri on August 18, 1939 to Lloyd and Della (Mayberry) Frey. She passed away on August 19, 2020 in Rolla, Missouri.

On January 19, 1957 Shirley was united in marriage to Louis Kuntz. To this union was three daughters, Kimberly, Deborah, and Michelle.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Lou, daughter Deb, brother Carl Frey, sister Murel Crafton, one great-grandson, Devin Smith, and two great-great grandaughters, Dakota and Scarlett Venn.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Kim Kuntz of Rolla and Mick Linden of Rolla, six grandchildren- Heather (Vance) Smith of St. James; Josh (Andrea) Ellis of St. James; Beth (Jim) Sparks of St. James; Samantha(Bryan) Pearson of St. James; Nichole Jercick of St. James and Tabitha Lewis of Rolla; one sister Linda (Ritchie) Wools of St. James and one very special cousin, Paul Frey of St. James. Shirley was loved by her surviving 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley retired from Boys and Girls Town in 2001 as a Cottage Life Coordinator. She enjoyed wagon train and camping trips with the children. In her retirement years, she crocheted many afghans that are treasured by the recipients.

Private visitation will be 1:00 PM Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Private funeral services will be 2:30 PM Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home with grandson-in-law, Jim Sparks officiating with burial in St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers are grandson, Josh Ellis and great-grandsons: Jordan Howard, Christian Harrell, Bailey Pearson, Logan Sparks, Brendan Pearson, and grandson-in-law, Bryan Pearson. Honorary pallbearers are great grandsons: Payton Jercick, Teagan Jercick and Justise Jercick.
