Obituary

Samuel William Krawiecki, of Rolla, MO, passed away suddenly on June 5, 2021 at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO.

Sam was born on August 15, 1931 in Centerville, IL, the son of the late Samuel and Pearl Krawiecki, née Rabenart.

Sam is survived at home by his beloved wife, Arlys Krawiecki, née Girardier, four sons, Rick Krawiecki and wife Janet of St. James, MO, Terry Wells and wife Terri of Osage Beach, MO, Lonny Wells and wife Cathy of Rolla, MO, Gordy Wells and wife Annette of Rolla, MO. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jason Berg of San Juan Bautista, CA, Casey Krawiecki of St. James, MO, Haley Lindemann of St. James, MO, Kimmy Auxier of St. James, MO, Heather Wells of Mound City, KS, Terry Wells of Vichy, MO, Andy Wells of Osage Beach, MO, Dallas Wells of Rolla, MO, Dusty Wells of Rolla, MO, Aaron Wells of Rolla, MO, and Dustin Lee of San Francisco, CA, 18 greatgrandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and many others who considered him “grandpa.”

Sam was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Krawiecki, née Mason, his parents, two sisters, Elaine Cwiklowski and Jean Fruin, one granddaughter, Kelly Fay Ridenhour Hays, and one great grandson, Oliver Flynn Wells.

Sam was very outgoing and never met a stranger. Most recently, he enjoyed morning coffee with friends at Country Bob’s, dinner dates and day trips with friends, and following the activities of his kids and grandkids. Sam rarely missed his grandkids’ sporting events. He especially loved sitting in the stands at basketball games where he took pride in supporting everyone on the court, not just his own kids. Sam was a Masonic Lodge member for more than 50 years. He was always very cheerful and eager to visit with old friends and new.

Sam worked for Homan Marshall at Highway Transportation of St. James as a truckdriver for many years. He served his country, first as a Marine and then in the United States Army. He was a Korean War Veteran and maintained a close relationship with many of his brothers in arms. He was very proud to serve his country.

It was difficult for Sam to find fault with anyone. He was a loyal and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sadly missed.
