Roger Dale Ellis Sr

Roger Dale Ellis of St. Roberts passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the Fort Wood Hospital in Waynesville, MO. He was 68 years of age.

Roger, the son of the late Hershel and Sarah (Eakins) Sewell, was born November 9, 1954, in St. Louis, MO. He was united in marriage to Barb Faulkner on April 10, 1975, in St. James, MO. Barb entered into rest on June 12, 2013.

On August 9, 2014, Roger married Teresa Ann Decker.

Roger is survived by his wife, Teresa of St. Roberts; one son, Jeremy Ellis (Amanda) of St. James, MO; one daughter, Crystal Gresham (Benie) of St. James, MO; step-daughter, Ashley Laverty (Chris Crow); adopted son, William Ellis of St. Roberts; four grandchildren: Tiffany, Christina, Haley, and Justus; one great-grandchild, Oliver Roark; step-grandchildren: Jonas Gresham, Hannah and Jayden Laverty; sister, Doris Brown (James) of Rolla, MO; nieces and nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barb; his son, Roger Dale Ellis, Jr.; his parents; brothers: Billy Cluck, Jerry, and Louis Wayne Ellis; half-brother- Clifford Sewell, Jr.; and step-sister, Shirley Stewart.

He worked for the Department of Corrections in Jefferson City for 21 years. He also spent some years working in construction.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also known as a jokester by his family and friends.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 09, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Burial with Full Military Honors will be 11:00 AM Thursday 9, February 09, 2023, at the St. James Cemetery.
