Robert A. Alvarado of Lexas, Kansas passed away peacefully July 1, 2021 at his daughter home in St. James, after living a full rich life of 94 ½ years. He was the sixth child of Aniceto and Natalia Alvarado born in Kansas City, Kansas on January 1, 1927.
Robert married his sweetheart Elizabeth (Betty) on March 8, 1944 and they enjoyed 72 years of life together until her death in 2016.
They had four children; Theresa, Ann, Robert (Bobby) and Stephen; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.
Robert was a devout man who loved God and strengthened his faith through participation in St. Patricks Parish for 50 years. He participated in Spanish and English prayer groups, served as a lay deacon taking communion to the home bound, and was active in both the Charismatic and Cursillo movements.

Robert’s family would like to offer a special thanks to his daughter Theresa, grandson Travis, and Tiffany Guerrette and her daughter Miranda for bringing joy to his everyday life in these past few years.
Robert is survived by his children: Theresa Matlock, Ann Schriver, Stephen (Vernon Meyer) and his daughter in law Carly O’Connor.
He is pre-deceased by his wife, Elizabeth, his son Robert Alvarado, his sons-in-law Gary Schriver, James Matlock, his grandson Lance Matlock, his beloved siblings and their spouses: Antonio Alvarado (Soledad), Juanita Olivarez (Ramon), Carolina Oropeza (Frank), Ernestine Alvarado (Raul’s spouse), Conception (Connie) Guerrero, Uriel Alvarado (Esther).
Robert leaves behind his: brother, Raul Alvarado; grandchildren: April Ramirez-Wiedner (Steve), Travis Matlock, Tina Seitter (Robert) and Connor Alvarado; great-grandchildren: Anthony Castro, Natalie Castro, Erin Ramirez, Jesse Castro III, Ellen Wiedner, Emma Ashworth, Gary Harrison, Erica Ramirez, Selena Ramirez, Jack Wiedner, Dominick Ramirez; great- great grandchildren: Alyssa Murray, Cameron Dixon, Ava Dixon, Abby Louderback-Alvarado, Charlotte Campbell, Anthony (AJ) Castro Jr, Grayson Ashworth, Jesse Castro IV, Audrey Harrison, Avery Harrison, Van Ashworth, Luke (LJ) Matson Jr, Winona Wiedner, Beau Harrison, Maxwell Ashworth.
Robert Alvarado, a man of deep faith and goodness. As he would say “It’s just one of those things!”
Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Patrick Church,1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
Visitation at 9:30 with mass following at 10:30. Internment with military honors on July 8th at 10:00 am, Leavenworth National Cemetery.
