Richard Edward Hanrahan of St. James, Mo. passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Phelps Health in Rolla, Mo. He was 59 years and 29 days of age.
Rick was born on December 15, 1960 in St. Louis, Mo. to his parents: Gene and Dorothy Gardner Hanrahan. He was united in marriage to Linda Chambers on October 15, 1997 in Rolla, Mo.
Rick served his country in the Army from 1982 – 1992. Over his lifetime, he continued to serve his community in many ways, including as a sheriff’s deputy, police officer, Sgt. Detective, EMT and 9/11 first responder and Director of Public Safety for PCRMC.
Rick enjoyed many interests and hobbies including Chiefs football (Go Chiefs!), fishing, hunting, shooting, and spending time with his family.
Rick is survived by his wife: Linda Hanrahan of St. James; father and his wife: Gene and Sharry Hanrahan of Gravois Mills; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Don and Rosemary Chambers of St. James; Sons: John Hanrahan of Rolla; and Jacob Hall-Hanrahan of Springfield; Daughters: Carissa Lyman and husband Michael of Columbia; Randi Turntine and husband Ryan of St. James; Laura Hall of St. James; Deanna Batarick and husband John of Columbia; Rebecca Lopez and husband Pablo of Rolla, Mo.; Grace Hanrahan and Jaylee Hanrahan both of St. James, Mo.; sisters: Lybbie Carpenter of Cameron, Mo.; Lynda Middeke and husband Richard of St. Peters, Mo.; Lucy Argo and husband John of Columbia, Mo.; Leah Davis and husband Greg of Wichita, Kansas; 17 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Rick in death is his mother: Dorothy (Gardner) Hanrahan and one infant brother: Paul Hanrahan; and two brother-in-laws: Carl Carpenter and Randy Chambers.
Visitation for Rick Hanrahan will be on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5 to 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James with Reverend Mick Thrasher officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Fort Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery in Waynesville, Mo.
