Retha Venitta (Chambers) Giesler

Retha Venitta Giesler of St. James, MO passed away Monday, February 7, 2022.  She was 88 years of age.

Venitta, the daughter of the late Clarence Ernest Chambers and Mabel Irene (Southard) Chambers, was born November 2, 1933, in St. Louis, MO.  She was united in marriage to Ronald Giesler, Sr. on September 23, 1950, in Arkansas.  To this union, four children were born.

Venitta is survived by her husband, Ronald of St. James MO; three daughters: Kimberly Giesler of St. James, MO, Cheryl Moreland of Rolla, MO, and Tami Felan and husband Gabe of St. James, MO; one son Ronald Giesler, Jr. of St. James MO; seven grandchildren: Steffanie Rogers, Justin Gruver and wife Tanna, Waide Moreland, Misty Boatright and husband Cecil, Dani Sousa and husband, Josh, Dustin Felan, and wife Julie, Chelsea Simmons and husband Ryan; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Mila Monterroza, one sister-in-law Rosemary Chambers along with other family members and friends.

Venitta is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Chambers, and Grandson-in-law Will Rogers.

Venitta loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.  She always greeted you with a smile, and she enjoyed talking to friends and family.  Most likely, she would also share a story about Ronald or one of her children.  She babysat children in her home for over 30 years; families were privileged to have her care for two generations of their little ones.  She loved the children, and the children loved her.  Aside from babysitting, Venitta found time to crochet, paint ceramics, and enjoyed the outdoors.  She took every opportunity to be outside whenever she could; and enjoyed going camping and fishing with family and friends.  

Visitation for Venitta Giesler will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.

Memorials may be made to the St. James Caring Center; cards will be available at the Jones Funeral Home.
