Patsy J. (Carter) Morelock

Patsy J. Morelock, 84, passed away the morning of February 28, 2023 at Gasconade Manor in Owensville, MO. She was 21 weeks shy of her 85th birthday.         

Patsy was born on August 11, 1938 in Safe, MO to John Carter and Beulah Carter, nee Jones.

Patsy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Doyel J. Morelock, on May 26, 1956. Two years later they welcomed their only child, Doyla Sue.         

While establishing their family, Patsy worked as a seamstress at Alfred Werber and California Manufacturing for many years. She delighted in tending to her garden and viewing her favorite soap operas. Patsy was a member and regular attendee at High Gate Baptist Church her entire life. Her faith was just as fierce as her love for her family which she valued above all.         

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents John and Beulah, and beloved husband Doyel.

She joined siblings Delores Lange, Mona “Wanda” Asher, and Maud “Louise” Meadows; Brothers-in-law Nolan Malone, Lindy Ridenhour, Steve Asher, Alva Lange, and Loren Morelock; and nephew David Lange.

Patsy is survived by her daughter, Doyla (David) Mentis of High Gate, MO; Special family friend Rosemarie (Tom) Hall, nee Harper of Cumming, GA; Sister, Vivian Ridenhour of St. James, MO; Grandchild, Dava (Andrew) Christian of High Gate, MO; Great Grandchild, Layton Elliott of High Gate, MO; Brother-in-law, Harding “Jr” Meadows of St. James, MO; Nieces and Nephews: Ken Lange, Sherryl (Steve) Macey, Kyle Ridenhour, Linda Rose, and Sandra & Mona Asher as well as numerous other family and cherished friends. 

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, March 5 2023 at Jones Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be Kyle Ridnhour, Marvin Bartle, Craig Skouby, Tim Terill, Paul Satterfield, and Jerry Crabtree. Burial will be in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.
