Ouita Anne (Winter) Rodman

Ouita Anne Rodman of St. James entered into rest on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Phelps Health. She was 102 years of age.

Ouita, the daughter of late Paul and Beatrice Ousley Winter, was born March 2, 1919 in St. James, MO.

In the spring of 1936, Quita entered into marriage with Wilfred Kenneth Rodman.  He was attending the University of Missouri-Rolla.  One son was born to this union, William Kenneth Rodman.  Ouita, describes motherhood as her most important role.

Ouita, traveled to Europe and to all of the states but 5 of them with her beloved husband.  She stated that it was a lot of traveling for a person that doesn’t like to go on a trip.  She was a great sports fan of all kinds.  She loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Beatrice Winter; one brother, Kenneth Winter; husband, Wilfred Rodman who passed away in 1988 and son, William Rodman who passed away in 2008.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Julia Rodman; two granddaughters:  Valerie and Heather; two great-grandchildren: Madeline and Adam and cousins, special friend Donnie Miller and his wife Renee of St. James, MO along with many other dear friends.

Ouita was a member of the St. James Christian Church since the early 1940s.  She will be greatly missed in our church and by all those that knew her.

Ouita’s motto is to live by God and do whatever He wants you to do.  She always said, “It’s a wonderful world so go out and greet it.”

Funeral Service will be held graveside at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the St. James Cemetery with Caleb Facculyn-Gous officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Winter Ousley Section of the Cemetery and next to her husband Kenneth Rodman. Memorial contributions may be given to the Youth Group at the St. James Christian Church of St. James.
