Nancy Hildenbrand Obituary

Nancy Louise (Bossert) Hildenbrand of Bethany Beach, Delaware passed away on January 6, 2023 in Sussex County, Delaware.      She was born in Phelps County, Missouri on July 9, 1932, to the late Walter R and Eve F (Kinkeade) Bossert.

She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ.

Louise went to St James schools and graduated from high school in 1950 as class valedictorian. She graduated from Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tennessee in 1952. After college, she returned to St James and was The Teacher in a one-room school in Phelps County for a year. The next year she moved to St Louis and worked for the county library, including on the book mobile. She then transferred to the Defense Mapping Agency working as a librarian and retired from that agency in 1987.

She married John C. Hildenbrand on February 14, 1974. She enjoyed reading, travel, watching Masterpiece Theater and sports, particularly tennis, which she also played. She loved music and sang in several choral groups, including the Metro Singers, who performed at Powell Hall and other venues.

Louise is survived by her husband John, son James Michael and four grandchildren: Lauren Ashley, Zakary Robert, Dillon Michael Christopher, and Kelsey Rose, and two great-grandchildren: Aaliyah and Clarence. She loved them all and was loved, and now she is missed by all of us.

Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on May 6, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery. Dinner will be held at Sybil’s Restaurant at 3 p.m.    Please join us.
