Minnie Sieber Obituary

Minnie Marie Sieber of St. James passed away Thursday, September 10. 2020 at Cedar Point Nursing Home in Rolla, MO. She was 86 years of age.

 

Minnie, the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred Gross Fanger, was born February 28, 1934 in Hinkle, MO. She married Jr. Ernest Gibson, and to this union seven children were born: John Ernest Gibson, Bonnie Marie Francis, Martin Robert Gibson, Ronnie Gibson, Howard Mark Gibson, Orville Ernest Gibson and Jay Alfred Gibson. She married Ernest Lacy, and to this union one son was born, Calvin Lacy. Her longtime companion and friend, Andy Adams, who preceded in death. On February 28, 2013, she married Ivan Sieber.

She is survived by her husband, Ivan of the home, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Fanger; three sons: infant son Ronnie Gibson, Calvin Lacy and Orville Gibson; brother Everett Fanger; sister Virginia Saroch and son-in-law, Jim Francis.

 

Minnie worked at several restaurants in the surrounding areas: Elm Restaurant, the Crossroads, and others in Newburg. She worked at the McFarland Nursing Home, and she, also, worked at Ruth Durrett’s residential home as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting; she made hats for the schools and baby sets and afghans for family and friends.  She loved to fish.  She spent many hours cooking and canning; blackberry dumplings was just one of her specialties.

 

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Ralph Green and Brad Demrick, officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Grate, Bill Grate, Cannon Williams, Adam Eubanks, Ray Green, Bret Jennings, and Vince Rawlings. Interment will be at the St. James Cemetery in St. James, MO.

 

Memorials may be made to St. James Caring Center.

 

All arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
