Meredith Janice Morrison of St. James, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning December 23, 2020 at her home in St. James, MO. She was 97 years of age.
She was born January 17, 1923 in St. James, MO the daughter of the late John Hanley and Ida Orilla James Spalding Jr.
Meredith was united in marriage to William Austin Morrison on January 13, 1946 at Higginsville, MO.
Survivors include her two sons: William James Morrison and his wife Yoshiko of St. James, MO and Donald Joe Morrison and his wife Sandra of Bel Aire, Kansas, one sister Maxine Birdsong of Pacific, MO, along with 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Austin Morrison, who she was married to for 54 years. He entered into rest June 23, 2000, one infant son Timothy Morrison, and one daughter Sally Morrison, along with two brothers Robert W. and Donald K. Spalding, two sisters: Mary Lloyd and Iola Andies.
Meredith loved her family very much. She loved making big meals for the family gatherings. She enjoyed gardening and needlepoint and always made time for her bridge games with her friends. She was an active member of the St. James United Methodist Church.
Due to Covid-19 the family will gather privately at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday for her funeral with her pastor Alicia Fisher officiating. Her favorite hymns Amazing Grace and Blessed Assurance will be played and sang. Burial will be at the family plot in the St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family. Memorials may be given to the St. James United Methodist Church.
