Martha J. Carrigan

Martha J. Carrigan of St. James, Missouri passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at her son’s home in Potosi, Missouri. She was 81 years of age.

Martha, the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Lois (Latta) Guiles, was born June 14, 1942 in Sedalia, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John V. Carrigan on July 15, 1962 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

She is survived by her son, John L. Carrigan and wife, Connie of Potosi, Missouri; daughter, Lois Carrigan of Ohio; brother, Ralph Guiles and wife, Gale of Muskegon Heights, Michigan; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jim Buhlinger and wife, Sandy of St. James, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Guiles and sister-in-law, Marie Guiles.

Martha was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed watching her husband race his stock car. She loved the cross-country trips that she and her husband took on his motorcycle. In recent years, she liked riding in John’s convertible Mustang. She looked forward to spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member at Broadway Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping during the various events.

Visitation will be Noon - 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home with Scott John officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the Dillon Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
