Margaret Jane (Ray) Pack

Margaret Jane Pack of St. James passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home in St. James, MO. She was 78 years of age.

Margaret, the daughter of the late Henry J. and Dorothy Christmas (Turnbough) Ray, was born November 14, 1944 in St. Louis, MO. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Pack on May 19, 1971 in Steelville, MO.

Margaret is survived by cousins: Jim Turnbough and wife, Julie; Jeff Turnbough and wife, Susana; Judy Turnbough Bailey and husband, Ken; Bob Abney and wife, Eleonora; Tina Cuddy; and Pat Blair; and her good friend, Willie Berkson of St. James, Mo.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenny who passed away November 11, 1995; her parents; four uncles: Elmer, Finis, Noah, and John; and two aunts: Gladine and Dolly.

Margaret treasured her family and friends; she enjoyed keeping up to date on their church activities, vacations, and family events. In earlier years, she loved walking downtown with her friend, Willy, to get a soda or visit with friends. In the last few years when she could no longer walk great distances, she looked forward to her daily trips with Willy to Pump Handle to get a super size drink. Willy’s kindness and willingness to run errands, take her to doctor appointments, and to help with house chores gave Margaret the opportunity to stay at her home instead of going to a nursing home. Being able to stay in her home meant the world to her.  A few years ago, she adopted a calico kitten, Little Bit. Little Bit became her pride and joy, and she became a great companion for Margaret.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2023 with Bradley Dimock officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Burial will be in the Adams Cemetery.
