Marcella (Bach) Patchell

Marcella Patchell passed away Tuesday morning October 6, 2020 at her daughter’s home in St. James, Mo. She was 96 years of age.

Mrs. Patchell was born July 22, 1924 in Perintown, Ohio the daughter of the late Lewis and Nelle Foster Bach.

On January 1, 1946, she was united in marriage to Russell Patchell who entered into rest May 2, 1996.

Marcella Patchell is survived by her Sons: Kenny Patchell and wife Betty and Jim Patchell and wife Carrie all of Batavia, Ohio. Daughters: Donna Deering and husband Jack of Peyton, Colorado and Carol Davis and husband Jeff of St. James, Missouri. She is further survived by one brother Roger Bach and his wife Anna of Batavia, Ohio, along with 8 very special grandchildren: Lori Ann, Kimberly Nicole, Justin Grizzly, Erin Janelle, Cody Janel, Devin Lee, Michelle Elizabeth and Garett James and 12 very special great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and sister-in-laws: Edwin Bach and wife Janie and Robert Bach and wife Ida Mae.

Marcella was born at home in Perintown, Ohio on the farm where her family was raised. She was very active in her home church of Perintown, Ohio United Methodist Church where she was a choir director and played the piano and the organ. Her musical talents were well known. She was a member of the Cincinnati Dulcimer Society, and she played at many events in her community and especially at home. Marcella was a member of the Homemakers Club and the Mothers Singers. Her home life was most important to her; she loved to can produce and take to the county fair along with her famous pies where she won many blue ribbons for them. She will be sadly missed.

Graveside Services will be conducted by the Evans Funeral Home of Milford, Ohio and will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Milford, Ohio where she will be buried in the family plot next to her beloved husband. Scott John of Broadway Baptist Church of St. James where Marcella attended while living with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jeff Davis, will officiate at the Graveside Funeral in Milford, Ohio. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be given to the Perintown United Methodist Church or Broadway Baptist Church of St James.
