Logan Thomas Runyon

January 6, 1991 ~ October 7, 2019 (age 28)

Logan was like a deer in the forest taking a long, deep drink from a stream - a simple presence whose incredible significance is only ever revealed to those who take the time to wait in the quiet stillness to see it. Logan dwelled in another place, outside of the rush and the rules and the race of this world. From the very beginning, he was meant for something else.

He came on a Sunday; January 6, 1991 at 1:06 am to his parents Nancy and Stanley Runyon, and two sisters, Caroline Skye and Molly Jean. Three years later, he became a big brother to Olivia Jade. Logan grew up and lived in Rolla, Missouri, where fishing, canoeing, hunting, being outside and playing with his army guys were the things that most marked his childhood. He picked up a guitar for the first time at fifteen years old and played for the rest of his life. He was a gifted musician, with long fingers that flew down the guitar neck and a full, deep singing voice that only the most fortunate of people ever heard. Logan didn’t speak unless he had something to say. When he did, it was smart, thoughtful, and endlessly witty. Seeing him grin felt like you had won the very best prize. Logan enjoyed traveling with his sisters and exploring new places. Throughout his life, Logan was always looking for ways to better the world around him, and he had the intelligence, courage, ingenuity and compassion to do it. From helping other people, to protecting the natural environment, to changing society for the better,
when he did something, he gave his whole heart to it. Of everything that Logan did and was, above all he was kind. He was gentle. He was humble and caring. Logan Thomas Runyon was brave.
