Kristi Lynn (Schneider) Matlock

Kristi Lynn Matlock of St. James, MO passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side on Friday, August 6th, 2021. She was 61 years of age.

 Kristi Matlock was born January 14, 1960, the daughter of the late Cotton and Marilyn Dreksage Schneider.  She was united in marriage to Dan Matlock on July 11, 1991.

 Kristi Matlock is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, two brothers: Mark Schneider and Rusty Schneider, 6 nieces, and nephews: Melissa Steinman, Doug Schneider, Lowell Boylan, Mark Schneider, Drew Boylan, and Claire Boylan.

 She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Denis Boylan.

 Kristi met her husband Dan on a blind date. While on the date it started snowing so he drove her home in the snowstorm. He says he's the "blind date that never went home". They remained inseparable for the next 30 years.

Kristi loved her family.  All her nieces and nephews were like her own children.  She was so excited the last couple of years when she became a Great-Aunt.  She loved all the cousins and extended family. Kristi was overjoyed when she gained even more family through her marriage to Dan and loved his family like her own.

She loved nature and enjoyed walking their dogs, which also started her love of collecting rocks.  She also loved entertaining guests at their home.  If you went to Kristi’s, you better be ready to eat.  She would serve huge meals that always ended with her favorite, dessert.

She wanted the memories of her to be happy. Remember her warm smile.  Remember how easily she used to laugh.  Remember how she always made sure you got a hug goodbye.  Remember how she always wanted to know that you made it home safe.   She will always be in our hearts.

 A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, August 21st, 2021 between the hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
