John Evan Shasteen of St. James, Mo. passed away on March 2, 2020 at the St. James Living Center in St. James, Mo. John Shasteen was 62 years of age.
John Shasteen was born on March 10, 1957 to his parents: Cecil and Carol Myrtle Shasteen in Peroria, Illinois.
John Shasteen was born with Danny Walker Syndrome. He was a gentle person who loved everyone. Most of his friends in his later life were the people of the St. James Living Center where he loved to play Bingo. Sometime Johnny would even help the caller announce the numbers. Johnny had many struggles in his life but he always tried to make the best of it. One of his greatest love was for his sister Beverly Riley, who he adored. He had a large portrait of Elvis above his bed to let visitors know he cared for Elvis. Next on his list of favorites included his love for Big Bird and Teletubbies. Not only did TV charters bring him comfort but he also loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Football Giants and he could get pretty loud showing his appreciation for them. Most importantly Johnny in his own way knew Jesus and was never afraid of death and knew he would go home with him someday. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
