John was a self-employed contractor in the St. Louis Washington area for many years, and also a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1839. He taught at the Four Rivers Vo-Tech College for several years. He was a proud Marine Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was a life member of VFW Post 2661 in Washington, MO and of the Private George Phillips Marine Corps League Detachment in Ballwin, MO. John loved the outdoors and for many years worked on his cabin south of St. James. Many years of hard work, from both Sheila and all the family, went into building the cabin, hueing the logs that were cut from the property and collecting stone for the massive fireplace. He passed away with Sheila at his side in the cabin that he loved so much and near where his beloved grandson Ian is buried. He was active in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. James, where he served on the Parrish Council and the Knights of Columbus. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
