John V. Carrigan

John V. Carrigan of St. James, Missouri passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at his son’s home in Potosi, Missouri. He was 82 years of age.

John, the son of the late William Maurice and Edith Phillips Carrigan, was born February 15, 1941 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Martha Guiles on July 15, 1962 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

He is survived in death by his wife, Martha of St. James, Missouri; son, John Carrigan and wife, Connie of Potosi, MO; daughter, Lois Carrigan of St. James, Missouri; brothers, Jim Buhlinger of St. James, Missouri and Charles Buhlinger (Joan) of Owensville, Missouri; sisters, Fay Ross (Virgil) of St. James, Missouri and Edith Schneiders of St. James, Missouri; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a quiet man who enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. He enjoyed going to the stock car races in Lebanon. He liked owning and racing his own stock car in his earlier years. He spent a lot of time riding his motorcycles; he and Martha rode many miles across the country through Colorado and South Dakota. As well as racing stock cars and riding motorcycles, he enjoyed working on motors and body repair.

Visitation will be Noon-2:00 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home with Scott John officiating. Burial will be in Dillon Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
