Joan Lee Glenn of St. James, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was 77 years of age.
Joan, the daughter of the late William and Adele (Lyons) Grable, was born September 27, 1946 in St. James, Missouri.
She was united in marriage to Charles Everett Glenn on May 17, 1985 in Steeleville, Missouri.
She is survived by her son, Leslie Clancy Jr. (Susan) of St. James, Missouri; daughters: Jennie Pope (Stewart) of St. James, Missouri; Robin Ahart (Kevin) of St. James, Missouri; Kellie Barnett (Dave) of St. James, Missouri; brother, Bill Grable (Amanda) of St. James, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Glenn; parents; grandson, Kevin James Ahart Jr.; brothers, James D. Grable and J. R. Grable; and sisters: Ellen Steward, Sharon Duckworth, and Florence Duckworth.
Joan was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making crafts for her family and friends. She spent a lot of time designing floral arrangements for monuments and crocheting. Throughout the year, she fed the cardinals and hummingbirds that visited her yard. She enjoyed the local mule shows and her trips to the casino. In her work career, she was employed at Walmart, St. James Veterans Home, and Glenn’s Hair and Nails. She was a lifetime member of St. James VFW 5608 Ladies Auxillary and the Cooties of the VFW.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2023 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 30. 2023 at Jones Funeral Home, with Blake Brewer officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Pope, Ben White, David Barnett, Logan Holt, Timothy Barnett, and Caleb Clancy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Lefebvre, Scott Holt, and Tyler Daly. Burial will be in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
