Jennie Mae Copper Dicks of Rolla, MO passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO. She was 94 years of age.
Mrs. Dicks was born February 6th, 1926, the daughter of Ralph and Martha Jones Copper.
On December 21, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Jennie was united in marriage to Harold Chester Dicks, Sr. Lieutenant Colonel Harold Chester Dicks, Sr. entered into rest in 1982.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and George Timson of Rolla, MO and one son and Daughter and Son-In-law: Mark and Donna Dicks of Talent, Oregon. Beloved grandsons: Joel Faucett, Seth Faucett and Craig Timson and two great-grandchildren: Thomas and Joanna.
Jennie and Harold lived in many places due to his career in the Air Force. They had homes in Japan, Virginia, Illinois, Hawaii, the Philippines, Missouri and Pennsylvania. They raised three children. Their oldest son, Harold Jr., had Down Syndrome. At the time of his birth, doctors recommended that they place him in an institution. Instead, they made sure he enjoyed the same quality of life as his siblings. Jennie achieved much in her life as a military wife, but her most treasured accomplishment was her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Harold Chester Dicks Sr., dear son Harold Jr., sisters: Catherine and Shirley and brothers: Gerald, Dale and Ralph.
The family is very grateful to the employees and other residents of Rolla Presbyterian Manor for the care and love they gave Jennie during the final years of her life.
Due to Covid-19, the family has requested a private visitation and funeral Monday morning, June 22, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James. Burial will be at the Fair Oaks Cemetery in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and Son.
