James Lee Campbell of Chamois, formerly of Rolla, passed away at his home on January 16, 2020. He was 67 years of age.
James was born March 6, 1952 in Rolla, the son of the late William Ernest and Frieda May Kidwell Campbell.
On November 6, 1976 in Rolla, he was united in marriage to Janet Marie Brock. She survives at the family home.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his beloved wife Janet, Sons: Christopher Allen Campbell and wife Michelle Campbell of Belle ; James Ernest Campbell of Chamois. Daughters: Julie Walls and husband Josh of Chamois; Alicia Pryor and husband Shane of Bourbon. Brothers: Lonnie Campbell and wife Tammy of St James and Robert Ferrell of Rolla. Sisters: Tammy Bunton and husband Eugene of St James; Amanda Grable and husband Bill of St James and Sylvia Gandy and husband Chester of Eldon. Six grandchildren: Shay-Lea, Justin, Trey, Jessica, Jessie, Matthew, Lexy-Ann Lee, and Phoenix. Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Jaxston, Judd and Sawyer, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He worked in the building trade industry, help building and remodeling homes and projects throughout the mid Missouri area. James served his country in the United State Army and was stationed in Fort Dix New Jersey. He received an honorable discharge in 1973. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharp Shooter M16 and awarded Expert Grenade Medal.
James Campbell will lie in state 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 23, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday January 23, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Kirk Kellog officiating. Song: Jealous of the Angels, Memories by Elvis, Grandpa’s Never Die and Even Tho I’m Leaving will be played for the service. Flag Line will be provided by the South Central Patriot Guard. Full Military Honors will be provided at the Jones Funeral Home following the funeral.
