Irene (Treece) Pankey

Irene (Treece) Pankey of West Plains, formerly of St. James, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, in West Plains. She was 67 years of age.

Irene was born on October 5, 1954, to Edward and Betty (Jones) Treece in Rolla, MO.

Irene is survived by her two sons, Michael Pankey and his wife Chrystal of West Plains, Danny Pankey and his wife Stormy of West Plains, one daughter, Lisa Pankey and Benjamin Miller of West Plains, eight brothers, Paul and Willie Treece of Lebanon, Eddie and Earl Treece of Farmington, Kenneth, Jerry, and Carl Treece of St. James, and Perry Treece of Salem, grandchildren, Bobbie, Chelsea, Donte, Krista, Emily, Rain, Joe, and Stetson, great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Peyton, and Riley, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Betty (Jones) Treece, her husband, Tim Pankey, mother-in-law Donnie, one brother, Lawrence Treece, one sister, Rose Pankey. She is also, preceded in death by Grandchildren, Allen, Autumn, and Gabriel, and friend, Kevin Pankey. Irene had the nickname of “Lady Bug”. She loved life and her time with her children, Michael, Danny, and Lisa. She was a proud mother and grandmother. Irene was a dedicated CNA at St. James Living Center for several years. Later, she became a Med 1 at Country Valley. Irene opened her heart to the residents and loved them wholeheartedly. She loved to hang out with her sister and brothers. They enjoyed cookouts, camping, river days, swimming, playing card games, and riding motorcycles. She rode doon buggys with friends and played music with Tim and Gene’s Band. Irene’s family was always beside her. She lived in St. James and Belle area most of her life. She loved her family and the time spent with Tamara, Lilly, Takiva, and her birthday baby Layla. Irene was a strong-willed lady and fought to the end. She will never be forgotten by all that loved and knew her; she was a wonderful friend, mom, grandmother, and aunt.

Memorial Service for Irene Pankey will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, with Pastor Craig Rippy officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association; cards will be available at Jones Funeral Home.
