Helen J. (Lortz) Doss

Helen J. Lortz Doss of St. James, Missouri passed away on September 4, 2019 in Columbia, Mo. She was 66 years, 1 month and 21 days of age.

She  was born on July 14, 1953 to the late: Jacques and Eleanor Booth Lortz in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.

Helen Lortz Doss is survived by bonus daughter: Amanda Wood and husband Wes Cecil of St. James, Mo.; bonus grandson: Jacob Wood of St. James,  brothers: Ernest Lortz and wife Thelma of Edgar Springs, Mo. Thomas Lortz and wife Geraldine of Cuba, Mo.; and David Lortz and wife Lynn of Roland, Oklahoma; sister: Alice Farmer and husband Dennis of Reidsville, North Carolina; nieces: Tanya Lortz; Beth Jerrell of Reidsville, North Carolina; Rebeka Lortz of Dotham, Alabama; Lea Anna Lortz of  Ashland, Mo.; Melissa Ann Light of Columbia; nephews: Jay Farmer of Reidsville, North Carolina; Rob Lortz of Rolla, Mo.; Jason Lortz of Camdenton, Mo.; Johnny Scott of Manchester, Mo.
 
Helen loved to ride her motorcycle, and was doing what she loved, when she passed away.  She worked as a sales clerk at Cooking From Scratch in Doolittle.  Helen was very active in the Patriot Guard Riders, and helped lead many Veterans to their place of rest.  She made many friends in the PGR.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Helen Doss Lortz in death are her parents; and  nephews: Wade Lortz and Devin Smith.

Funeral will be on September 21, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
