Floyd Eugene “Gene” Bartle of St. James, MO passed away at the Phelps Health on Sunday, September 8, 2019. He was 82 years old.
Gene was born on November 5, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to late Otha Eugene and Martha Lorea Onstott Bartle.
Gene worked in construction for over 40 years for both Fred Weber and Porter-Dewitt in St. Louis. Throughout his career, he helped create the roads you use today and built the landscape that no one really envisioned until it was complete. Outside of work, he was passionate about music and was often playing one of his many well-loved guitars with Merle Owens and the Country Cousins.
Gene is survived by one daughter: Sheila Taylor of St. Charles, MO; two brothers: Jack Bartle and David Bartle and wife Patricia of St. James, MO; one sister: Claudine Parrish and husband Laverne of St. James, MO; and one granddaughter: Mackenzie.
Preceding Gene in death are his parents: Otha Eugene and Martha Lorea Onstott Bartle; infant sister: Phyllis Bartle; two sister-in-laws: Lola and Connie Bartle.
Burial of the ashes will be on the family plot at the Miles Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
