Ellen Elsner of St. James passed away Sunday with her family at her side on January 9, 2022, at her home in St. James. She was 72 years of age.
Ellen Elsner was born January 31, 1949, in Steelville, MO the daughter of the late Theodore and Beulah Mason Chandler.
On May 20, 1995, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Craig Elsner.
She is survived by her beloved husband Craig of the home in St. James. Son, Larry Chilton and wife Tina of Steelville, Mo, brothers: Alvin Chandler and wife Barb of Wesco, Mo., and Frank Chandler and wife Sandy of Wesco, Mo. Sisters: Shirley Joyce and husband Larry of Sullivan, Mo, and Terri Dicus of Cuba, Mo., along with brother-in-law Rick Bomarito. She is further survived by 2 grandchildren Brittney and Brandon Chilton, and four great-grandchildren Gunner, Aubrey, Rylee-Rice, and Brodie Chilton.
She is preceded in death by infant daughter Tina Marie Chilton, one brother, Harvey, brother-in-law Allen Dicus and Lawrence Brewer, sisters: Betty Joe Brewer and Debbie Sue Bomaritoand a nephew, Everett Wisdom..
Ellen worked at the Missouri Veterans Home in the laundry for 26 years. She received her Certificate of Medical Technician and worked in home health for many years. She loved to be around people and visit and stay active. Ellen worked with Choices for People in Rolla driving clients to work. Most recently she worked at the St. James Caring Center, she always said it was like working with family. She will be sadly missed.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the St. James Cemetery with Rev Brendan Griffey officiating.
Memorial Mass will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m. January 29, 2022, at the Immaculate Conception Church in St. James with Rev. Brendan Griffey officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
