Donna Louise Smith

Donna Louise Smith of St. James passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at her home in St. James, MO.  She was 81 years of age.

Donna, the daughter of the late Lester Austin and Sylvia Nadine Ammerman Walker, was born August 28, 1940 in Jefferson City, MO.  She was united in marriage to James LeRoy Smith on August 24, 1957 in Senatobia, MS.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Lucinda Rae Davis and husband, Jim of Lebanon, TN; two sons:  Ricky Lynn Smith and wife, Gloria of Cuba, MO and Perry Smith of St. James, MO; three granddaughters:  Dana McDowell and husband, Ronnie of Nashville, TN; Michelle Johns of Rolla, MO and Amber Fast and husband, Nathan of Carthage, MO; great grandchildren:  Morgan Weber and Garon McDowell of Nashville, TN; Joseph Cook, Caden Hayley, and Kytelin Johns of Rolla, MO and Jaydan Feingold of Carthage, MO and sister, Vondenia Maples and husband, Harold of Holt Summit, MO.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy who passed away October 18, 2019 and sister, Jilletta Jeneice Walker.

Donna was a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother and friend.  Her smile was beautiful, and she always welcomed a chance to chat and catch up with her family and friends.  She cherished her family.  She lovingly made her house a home. She enjoyed preparing home-cooked meals for her family, especially for the holidays.  Holidays were filled with love, laughter and smells of her home-made desserts. As well as being a wife and mother, she worked for the local coat factory for 20 plus years.

Donna will lie in state 2:00 PM Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, June 12, 2022 with Mike Smith, officiating.  Pallbearers will be Craig Brown, Ronnie McDowell, Garon McDowell, Joey Cook, Caden Hayley and Kirby Lindsay.  Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
