Donald Chambers passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was 90 years old.
Don was born to Earnest and Mabel (Southard) Chambers, on September 3, 1931, in Maries County, MO.
Don Chambers was united in marriage to Rosemary Davis on December 21, 1951, in Rolla, MO.
Donald Chambers is survived by his beloved wife of over 70 years, Rosemary Chambers of the home. One son, Gary Chambers and wife Rhonda of St. James. Two daughters, Marilyn Disser and husband Glen of St. James, and Linda Hanrahan of St. James. Sister Venetta Giesler of St. James, He is also, survived by twelve Grandchildren, twenty-seven Great-Grandchildren, and one Great-Great-Grandchild, and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earnest and Mabel Southard Chambers. One son, Randy Chambers that passed away on January 14th, 1980., and son-In-law Rick Hanrahan who enter into rest January 13, 2020.
Don was a farmer, barber, politician, and a little bit of everything. He went to St. Louis to Barber School and was a barber in St. James for over 60 years. He had been cutting hair for 3 generation of family’s hair in St. James. Don committed his life to served his Lord at a young age and after he was married, he and Rosemary saw that their family grew up in the church. His family attended the First Assembly of God in St. James and served in many areas of the church including Singing, serving as a Deacon and assisted in any area he was needed. Don was a Gospel Singer and was on the St. James School Board for 20 years. He was a man of conviction to his God, his family and his country. Don was a veteran of the United States Army and was always proud of his country and proud to fly his flag. He will be sadly missed.
Visitation for Donald Chambers will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on January 17, 2022, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on January 18, 2022, at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, MO., with Pastor Mick Thrasher officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Walters, Josh Chambers, Mike Chambers, Andy Chambers-Wells, Jacob Hall-Hanrahan, Conner Chambers. Honorary pallbearer is Tyler Chambers. Burial with full Military Honors will be at the Southard Cemetery near St. James.
Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, MO. Cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
