Diane Pauline (Cook) Swanson

Diane Pauline Cook Swanson, 88, of Vichy, Mo. passed away at the Rolla Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rolla, Missouri on Sunday, December 30, 2018.
 
Diane was born on August 6, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Leslie Hobert and Helen Frances (Bray) Cook. Diane was united in marriage to Albert Swanson on December 30, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. To this union four children were born.
 
Diane was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star, and a devoted member of the Vichy Community Church.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, bible study, and music.  She especially enjoyed playing her “bass tub” during church services and at birthday celebrations at the Vichy Wye.  Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
 
Surviving Diane is her son: Stanley Swanson and wife Claudia of Lusk, Wyoming; daughter: Phyllis Shanker and husband Steve of St. Peters, Missouri; three brothers: Leslie “JR” Cook of Vichy; John Cook of St. Louis; and Lynn Cook of St. Louis; and one sister: Vivian Moon of Holley Pond, Alabama; along with five grandchildren: Eric Swanson and wife Melanie; Brian Swanson and wife Lisa; Adam Swanson and wife Danielle; Paul Shanker and wife Randi; and Andrea Barfield and husband Patrick; and seven great-grandchildren: Tony Boyd, Kaitlyn Swanson, Benjamin Shanker, Matthew Swanson, Alexander Swanson, Elijah Shanker and Tristan Swanson.
 
Preceding Diane in death are her parents: Leslie H. and Helen (Bray) Cook; her husband: Albert Swanson; two sons: Larry Swanson and Roger Swanson; three brothers: Hobart Cook, Dennis Cook and George Cook; and one sister: Shirley Moore.
 
Visitation for Diane Swanson will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4 - 8 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo.
 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. with Gary Lane officiating.  Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in rural Rolla, Mo. with pallbearers: Eric Swanson, Brian Swanson, Adam Swanson, Paul Shanker, John Cook Jr., and Steve Cook.
 
Memorials may be made to the Vichy Community Church or the Vichy Fire Department both in Vichy, Mo.
