Deborah Lynn Meurer of St. James, MO., passed away suddenly, at her home on August 23, 2021. She was 70 years of age.
Debbie, was born June 18, 1951, in Rolla, MO., the daughter of late John Henry Jr. and Catherine Meurer.
She was married Carl Spurlin, and to this union two children were born, Christine and Carl Wayne Spurlin. She was then was united in marriage to Robert Reynolds. To this union, Bobby Reynolds was born.
Deborah Lynn Meurer is survived by her son, Bobby Reynolds of Oakland IA. Sisters: Sally Davis of Rolla, MO and Linda Ray and husband, Jerry of St. James, John Meurer and wife Stephanie of St. James, Mo, and Brother-In-Law, Walter Snelson, of Rolla MO. She is also survived by one grandson, Jonas Reynolds of Oakland IA, along with nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and special extended family: Gavin Hays and Cam Parsons.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved children, Christine and Carl Wayne Spurlin; brother-In-law Jim Davis, dear sister Sherry Snelson along with one great nephew Jayse Ray.
Debbie was a loving, caring and forgiving person who was grounded in faith with her Lord Jesus Christ. She was faithful and very active member at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, She never missed a Sunday, and she always loved to worship the Lord. She loved kids, and she loved being a Sunday School teacher for many years. She always handed out donuts before worship services. She was a giving person. After retiring from over 35 years of work at the James Foundation, Debbie volunteered at the St. James Caring Center. She never met a stranger; she loved being around people. She loved to hear about activities of her grandson, Jonas, and she usually had a story to share about his activities. Other than her faith, nothing was more important to Debbie than her family. She recently enjoyed a day with her sisters; she talked to Bobby on the phone daily. She loved her house and passed away doing what she loved to do, feeding her birds. She also had pet squirrels with names for each of them. Debbie touched many lives and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Debbie Meurer will lie in state from 5-8 PM on August 27, 2021 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James Mo.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Bro Mick Thrasher officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ray, Johnny Maxwell, Clint Snelson, Justin Ray, Jeffrey Ray, Gage Maxwell, Chad Snelson and J. Meurer. Burial will be in the family plot at the St. James Cemetery. Memorial may be given to the St. James Caring Center or the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, MO.
