Charlene Kay Jones of St. James passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at her home in St. James, MO. She was 66 years of age.
Kay was born March 20, 1956, to Charley Dee and Wanda Lea James. On March 5, 1977, she was united in marriage to Rick Jones. Rick and Kay are members of Landmark Baptist Church in Rolla, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Wanda James, mother-in-law and father-in-law Darlene and Roy Jones, and niece Jessica Brinker.
Kay is survived by her husband of 45 years, Rick Jones of St. James, MO; daughters: Crystal (Cash) Bliss of St. James, MO, Amanda (Chris) Newcom of Cuba, MO, and Shannon (Chris) Waldron of St. James, MO; brother Mark (Susan) James of St. James, MO, sister Marsha (Mike) Brinker of St. James, MO, and sister-in-law Angela (Shane) Montgomery of Warrensburg, MO; eight grandchildren: Courtney Lynn (Alex) Harrop, Lexus Bliss (boyfriend Michael Spencer), Andrew Schneider (girlfriend Jerika McClure), Zoey Bliss, Joseph Bliss, Emily Kay Newcom, Connor Waldron, and Cooper Waldron; four great-grandchildren: Emmett Spencer, Johnathon Spencer, Thane Harrop, and Chase Harrop; and many nieces and nephews.
Kay loved the Lord, dearly loved her family, friends and the love of her life, Rick. She loved to laugh, she brought laughter and joy to all she met. She loved playing with her grandkids and teaching them to never grow up and to try to be as goofy as her even when times are hard. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, painting, and spoiling her dog, Daisy. She was a strong and beautiful person who will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Kay Jones will be 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
Funeral Services will start at 3:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Jackson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers: Debbie Hoffmeister, Brenda Smith, Susan James, Tracie Hurley, and Debbie Firestine.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
