Caroline June LaBarge

Caroline June LaBarge of St. James, MO passed away at the St. James Living Center Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2022 at the age of 89.

Caroline LaBarge was born in Granite City, IL on September 30, 1932 to the late Jesse and Jennie Sherell Burnett.

Caroline is survived by a son: Larry Lee LaBarge and wife, Dollie of Licking, MO; two daughters: Leasa Elrod and husband, Pete of Belle MO and Nancy Southard and husband, Frank of Rolla, MO and son-in-law, George McAntire of St. James, MO. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Mike Collier and wife, Robyn; Julie Hammond and husband, Jason; Shellie Koons and husband, Michael; Peter Ryan Elrod and wife, Lindsay; Lucas Elrod and fiance, Britini; Cody Jackson; Jeremy Southard and wife, Almedia; Courtney Southard and wife, Jenette; Jerry Coleman and wife, Theresa and Donna Coleman. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one daughter: Pam McAntire, as well as her four brothers: George Owen Burnett, Jessie “Junior” Burnett, Kenneth Burnett, and Carl Marion Burnett.

Caroline loved to play Bingo and going to the Casino to play the slot machines. She enjoyed a good Chuck Norris movie- the more excitement the better. Many evenings where spent with Bud listening to Bluegrass Music and playing shuffle board. She loved being around people. She worked at Zeno’s Restaurant in Rolla as an office manager and also as a hostess for almost 30 years. In later years, she attended the St. James Christian Church. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

Caroline LaBarge will lie in state Thursday July 7, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 8, 2022 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Alan Wynn officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Jackson, Lucas Elrod, Mike Collier, Jason Hammond, Courtney Southard and Mike Koons. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Tri-County Humane Society.
