Carol Jean VanBibber

Carol Jean VanBibber of Rolla passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Oak Pointe in Rolla, MO. She was 86 years of age.

Carol, the daughter of the late Carl and Velma Spencer VanBibber, was born June 27, 1936 in Granite City, Illinois.

Carol is survived by her nephew, Mark VanBibber of St. James, MO; four nieces: Cora Benoit of Alaska; Tena Richard and husband, Danny of St. James, MO; Rita Anderson and husband, James of Minnesota; and Florence Feeler of Rolla, MO; a special great niece Kacie Krueger and her husband, Tony of St. James, who has taken care of Carol for the past several years; along with other great nieces: Christiana Benoit of Riverside, CA; Tasha Richard of St. Louis, MO; Kayla Anderson of Minnesota; Amy Snodgrass (Jacob) of Colorado; great nephews: Michael Benoit of Arkansas; Andrew Benoit of Arkansas; Josh Anderson (Haley) of Rolla, MO;  Daniel Richard (Christina) of Minnesota, Cody Stein (Jamie) of Rolla, MO, Spencer VanBibber (Megan) of St. James, MO; Wesley VanVibber of Rolla, MO; and Mark Richard of St. James, MO; and sister-in-law, Cepha VanBibber.  Carol will be missed by her family and many friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Faye VanBibber; and her brother, Eugene VanBibber.

Carol earned her Bachelor of Science in Education as well as a master’s degree in education. She taught in the public schools for 45 years, and she always had great stories to tell from her years of teaching. She spent several years as an instructor in the reading education program for the Rolla Public Schools. Carol was an avid Cardinals baseball fan, and she tried to never miss a game on the TV. She loved her nieces and nephews; she spent many hours watching and caring for them. She was a faithful member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Vistation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2022 with Phil Havens officiating.  Pallbearers will be Daniel Richard, Spencer VanBibber, Tony Krueger, Cody Stein, Westley VanBibber, and Mark VanBibber. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Richard and James Anderson. Burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Rolla, MO.

Memorials may be given to Macedonia Baptist Church of Rolla, MO.
