Carol V. Lennaman Dye

 Carol V. Lennaman Dye of Florissant, Missouri, formerly of Vichy, Missouri, passed away August 9, 2023 at the Sarah Community in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was 86 years of age.

Carol, the daughter of the late John and June V. Quayle Pumphrey, was born February 28, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois.

She was united in marriage to Frank Lennaman on June 25, 1955 at High Gate, Missouri. He entered into rest January 18, 2008. She then married Walter Dye on December 20, 2008. He entered into rest November 29, 2020.

Carol is survived by sons, Steven Lennaman (Annie) of Desoto, Missouri and Frank A. Lennaman of Vichy, Missouri; two daughters, Rebecca O’Reilly (Terrence) of Fenton, Missouri and Jill Huber (Ramon Perez) of Florissant, Missouri; sisters, Virginia Connor (Karl) of Washington, Missouri and Vicky Morgan of St. Louis, Missouri; Walter’s children: Brenda, Jan and David. She has 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 12 Great-Great-Great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Lennaman and Walter Dye; several step-brothers, two sisters, Joan Jones and Edith Adams.

Carol was a cosmetologist, and she operated a beauty shop in Vichy for over 30 years. She loved the ocean; she loved to walk the beach and collect seashells. Carol was an avid reader and always had a book checked-out from the library. Frank and Carol always had a big garden and loved to can vegetables. They provided canning goods for all five of her kids’ families. She was well known for her homemade ketchup, and she always made sure that the kids never ran out. She enjoyed worshiping her Lord and attending the First Baptist Church in Newburg, Missouri. On the weekends, you would find Carol and Frank at a local square dance listening for the caller to announce the next dance. Walter and Carol visited the residents at the nursing home and residences in their neighboring communities. Walter and his family would provide the music with Walter playing the guitar. She will be sadly missed.

Carol will lie in state at 10:00 AM Saturday August 12, 2023 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Don Bilbary officiating. Carol’s favorite hymns will be played for her funeral. Pallbearers will be Michael Shuster, Brandon Keith, Ramon Perez, Terry O’Reilly, Frank A. Lennaman, and Kyle Huber. Burial will be in the family plot at the Walker Cemetery in Vichy, Missouri. Memorials may be given to the Vichy Fire Department.
