Billy Dwayne Smith

Billy Dwayne Smith of Belle passed away suddenly Sunday morning, September 25, 2022, at his home.  He was 56 years of age.

Billy, the son of the late Billy Ray and Melba Marie Roberts Smith, was born January 2, 1966, in Rolla, MO.

Billy is survived by his sister, Angela Renee Zejda of St. Louis, MO; his brother, Ron Curtis Smith of Belle, MO; nieces and nephews: Rechel Sennette of Chula Vista, CA; Darrell Roberts, Jr. of Chula Vista, CA; Katherine Chapman London, OH; Gabriele Hart of Columbia, MO; Michael Hart of Rolla, MO; Samual Schepker of St. Peter’s, MO; and great nieces and nephews: Eddie Roberts, Isaac Whitehill, Ishmael Vaughan, Carson Hart, Kenleigh Hart, Camden Hart, Jakob Chapman, and Theodore Hart.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Buren Lee and Fannie May McDaniels Smith, and maternal grandparents, Jesse Theodore and Eva E. Groff Roberts. and brother, Darrell Roberts.

Billy was a family man; he enjoyed BBQs with family and friends. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized. He attended Corner Stone Apostolic Church in Owensville. He was a true witness for the Lord. Billy also was the church bell ringer. He was a great encourager for people to attend and worship the Lord. Billy worked side by side with his dad in the BR and Son Lumber Company and Trucking Company, and later, they opened and ran the HWY 28 Discount Food Store in Bland. Billy knew everyone. He was friendly and outgoing. He loved to tinker with stuff, especially anything with an engine. He was a great collector of many things. 

Billy will lie in state at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.

Funeral service will be 7:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO.
