Beth Ann Mayes of St. James passed away at her home on Thursday, August 27, 2020. She was 58 years of age.
She was born September 13, 1961 in Rolla, MO. She is the daughter of the late Emory and Shirley (Owens)Hicks . Beth was raised by her step-mother, Sharon Hicks and father, Emory of Belle.
On August 18, 1979 at Flag Springs Church in St. James, she was united in marriage to Kevin Mayes.
Survivors include Step-Mother: Sharon Hicks of Belle, Husband Kevin Mayes of St. James, Son: Chuck Mayes and wife Casey of Belle, Daughters: Rebecca Kay Justus and husband, Michael of Bland and Amanda Amlong of Titusville, Flordia, Brother Randy Hicks and wife, Dawn of Belle and Sister Shelia Thomas and husband, Mike of Belle; along with 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Beth is preceded in death by her mother and father, son-in-law Brandon Amlong, two brothers: Terry and Duke Hicks and granddaughter Lydia.
Beth dearly loved her family especially her grand kids. She loved the excitement of a rodeo and enjoyed watching a Bull Bash to see how long a rider could stay on a bull. Beth never passed up a yard sale, and she was known by her first name at the Caring Center because she was there so often. Beth had a loving and helping nature about her, and it showed in her years of countless hours working with victims of domestic violence. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beth Ann Mayes will lie in state Sunday August 30, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 31, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Gene Branson officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Steen, Kaden Justus, Michael Craig, Matthew Cannon , Robbie Nielsen , and Jed Thomas . Burial will be in the Flag Springs Cemetery.
