Beda Mary Dillon, of St. James, MO passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at the age of 100, at the St. James Living Center.
She was born June 7, 1919, near Vienna, MO to John and Mary (Bade) Honse.
She married Emmett Dillon March 30, 1946. She is survived by her son Stanley Dillon of St. James, and three daughters: Debra Bullock of St. James, Carol Flaim and husband Tony of St. James, and Janet Dillon of Fredrick, MD. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Beda was preceded in death by her husband Emmett, her son Bruce, her parents and five brothers: Clyde, Willard, Carl, Henry, and George Honse and three sisters: Viola Tackett, Mamie Pointer, and Dora Mixer.
In her early teens she professed her faith in the Lord and was baptized into the Baptist Church, to which she was an active member all her life.
She was a member and past president of the Forest City Gardeners; a member and past president of the St. James Civic Club; and a member of the Eastern Star.
Beda graduated from Southwest Baptist College. She taught rural schools in Maries and Phelps Counties and St. James R1.
She had an active and blessed life with her family and loved gardening, flowers, canning, cooking, and quilting.
A visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, MO, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be in the Dillon Cemetery in Safe, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dillon Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers are David Dillon, Andy Tisckos, Silvio Flaim, Kevin Schwalje, Eric Neuhaus, and Josiah Crousore. Preacher Rev. Douglas Lane. Pianist Jeanette Ashley. Song Leader Rev. Stephen Brubaker.
