Barbara A. (Hobbs) Thomason

Barbara A. Hobbs Thomason of St. James, Missouri passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the Cuba Manor Nursing Home. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Thomason was born on February 13, 1942, in Chaffee, Missouri to J.V. and Vera Edalman Hobbs.

On July 6, 1963 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Carl Thomason.  He survives at the family home.

She was a graduate of College High School in Cape Girardeau, and she attended nursing school in St. Louis.  She most recently worked at Phelps Health in Rolla before her retirement.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Carl; daughters Jo Anne Bell of Haines City, Florida and Jamie Danielle Robertson of Kansas City, Missouri. She had two very special
granddaughters: Tabatha Marie Bell and Meadow Alexa Robertson, also surviving are her sister Nancy Jo Deimund;of Monticello, WIsconsin,
nephew Mitchell Deimund, Jr. and niece Michelle Deimund and many extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hobbs and Mr. and Mrs. C.C.  Edalman; brother-in-law Mitchell Deimund and many aunts and uncles.

Barb also leaves behind her precious pets.

A brief service and committal will be at the Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Tri Co Humane Society, 745 E Springfield Street St. James, MO 65559.

A face covering will be required to attend the visitation and funeral.
