(Pinkston) Brown
November 16, 1935 – August 5, 2025
Barbara Lea Brown, age 89, of St. James, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
Barbara was born the daughter of F.O. Pinkston and Majorie Pinkston Bowling on November 16, 1935. On December 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to William G. "Bill" Brown who preceded her in death in 1985. To their union one child, Dana, was born. Barbara is survived by her son-in-law, Clay Haynes of Wentzville, MO; grandchildren Nathan Haynes of Kansas City, MO; Mark Haynes of Billings, MT; Becky Haynes Coday and her husband, James Coday of Liberty, MO. She is also survived by her sister Judy Bullock and sister-in-law Mary Lou Pinkston all of Rolla, MO along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Dana, parents, stepfather Bill Bowling and brothers and spouses Frank Pinkston, Jack Pinkston, Kelly Pinkston, Wallace Pinkston, Robert Pinkston and Caroline Pinkston as well as sister Roxie Brown, half-sister Pauline Kingston and her husband Charles.
Barbara was a devoted wife and mother and possessed a servant's heart giving her time and energy through various youth and civic organizations throughout her life. She was a long-time 4-H volunteer project and community leader, teaching numerous young people how to sew, cook, garden, knit and crochet and more importantly she taught young people that "anything worth doing was always worth doing right". She retired from K-Mart as a Customer Service Representative. She also served for several years at the St. James Senior Center, and she was a director of the Phelps County Council on Aging. In addition, Barbara was a devoted and long-time St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.

Barb Brown will lie in state from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday August 8, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday August 9, 2025, at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Bro Mick Thrasher Officiating. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Haynes, Tim Haynes, James Coday, Shane Pinkston, Keith Moreland, and Mike Moreland. Honorary pallbearers: Bill Meyer, Jerry Meyer, Jim Branstetter, Connie Laney, Joyce Smith, Marcy Slone.
