William (Bill) Charles Bisso, Sr. of St. James, Missouri passed away at his home on Sunday, January 13, 2008. He was 87 years, 1 month, and 9 days of age.
William was born on December 4, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri to his parents: William W. and Mary Elizabeth (Cook) Bisso. William was united in marriage to Julia Ladi on March 23, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri.
William was retired from Metro, formerly Bi-State Transit company. He started in 1952 as a streetcar conductor, then as a bus driver and dispatcher before retiring after 32 years. Bill was a veteran of World War II. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1938 and served in the North Atlantic on convoy duty prior to America's entry into the war. His service continued in the Carribbean, Panama Canal Zone and in the Pacific.
William was preceded in death by his parents: William W. and Mary Elizabeth (Cook) Bisso; his youngest son: Joseph P. Bisso.
William is survived by his wife of the home: Julia (Ladi) Bisso of St. James, Missouri; four sons: William C. Bisso Jr. and wife Linda of St. James, Missouri; Robert J. Bisso and wife Brenda of St. Louis, Missouri; Thomas M. Bisso of St. James, Missouri; Kenneth E. Bisso and wife Florence of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother: James A. Bisso and wife of Collinsville, Illinois; and seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. William will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services
A visitation for William will be held from 12:00 Noon till time of service on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
A memorial service will held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Craig Rippy officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
