William "Bill" Potts of rural St. James, Mo. passed away at his home on October 27, 2012. Bill Potts was 65 years, 7 months, and 10 days of age.
Bill Potts was born on March 17, 1947 to his parents: Floyd "Bud" and Jessie Helen (Dittman) Potts in High Gate, Mo. Bill was united in marriage to Jannet M. Dahl on December 28, 1968 in the High Gate Baptist Church in rural St. James, Mo.
Bill Potts was born in High Gate and lived most of his life in High Gate. Bill graduated from Belle High School and then entered into military service. After the military he married the love of his life Jannet M (Dahl) Potts. He moved to St. Louis for a short time and moved back home to High Gate. Bill installed hardwood flooring for thousands of home all around Missouri. But his love was his family especially a granddaughter named Sierra. Where you saw Sierra you saw Bill, they were always together on an adventure. Bill raised hogs and cattle and enjoyed woodworking, making, cutting boards and even built a unique Cat Condo. Bill loved the Lord and was a member of the High Gate Baptist Church. Bill fought the good fight with cancer with his family at his side. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Bill Potts is survived by his loving wife of the home: Jannet M. Potts, St. James, Mo.; one son: Jeff Potts of St. James, Mo.; one daughter: Jill Potts of St. James, Mo.; mother: Jessie Helen (Dittman) Potts of Belle, Mo. one brother: Sam Potts and wife Rita of Vichy, Mo.; two sisters: Brenda Wilson and husband Sam of Belle, Mo.; and Pam Rohrer and Paul Mercurio of Bland, Mo.; and one granddaughter: Sierra Gibson of St. James, Mo. A host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding Bill Potts in death is his father Floyd "Bud" Potts in September 1989.
Services
Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2 P.M. at the High Gate Baptist Church in rural St. James, Mo. with Bobbie Crabb and Dennis Sprugeon officiating. Donnie Davis will play Amazing Grace on the guitar. Stephen Brubaker will lead a congregational hymn When WE All Get To Heaven. The organist will be Cindy Miner.
Bill Potts was buried at the family cemetery, Potts Cemetery on Sunday October 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
