Obituary

Wendell Bobbie Bishop of St. James, Mo. passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Mo. Wendell Bishop was 77 years, 2 months and 23 days of age.

Wendell Bishop also know as W.B.; Bob or Bobbie was born on July 2, 1936 in High Gate, Missouri to his parents: Walter and Ella Kinsey Bishop.

Wendell was a devoted son to his father and mother. Wendell Bishop proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 6 years as a Commissaryman. Then he proudly spent 36 years with the University of Rolla Police where he met many close friends and received many awards. He then married Cynthia Louise Akers in 1973 in St. James and on March 11th, 1975 he had his one and only child Donna Louise Bishop who he adored to this day no matter how many miles apart. Wendell was a charming, honest , hard working and loyal son, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed reminising about the past, travel and treasured the memories he shared with those closest to him.

Wendell Bishop is survived by his ex-wife: Cynthia L. Hupp and one daughter: Donna Louise French and husband Michael of St. James, Mo. He was a devoted grandfather to his grandbabies, he called his Kitty Kats oldest being Forrest Aubrey French, Chloe Jasmine French, Paige Ryan French and youngest Autumn Noelle French and also one sister: Patricia Simmons McClain and 2 loved nieces: Cindy Lee and Sherrie Heaper as well as thier children and grandchildren and many long time friends and confidants.

Wendell Bishop is preceded in death by his grandparents; parents: Walter and Ella Mae (Kinsey) Bishop; two brothers: Henry B. and Warren Bishop; and two sisters: Wilma Varner and Mildred Bishop as well as two beloved nephews; Henry J. and Brandon Heaper.

Services
Memorial Services for Wendell Bishop will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. Burial with full military honors will be in the High Gate County Cemetery.
