Obituary

Warren "Sonny" Laverne Feeler of Vichy passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home.  He was 81 years of age.

Sonny, the son of the late Herbert "Hub" and Olive Adell (Hodge) Feeler, was born September 15, 1941 in Vichy, MO.  He was united in marriage to Joyce Cline on June 1, 1991 in Fenton, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Fenton, MO; children: Kerry Feeler and wife, Ann of St. James, MO; Lisa Sachs and husband, Alan of St. James, MO; Scott Feeler and wife, Amy of St. James, MO; Bill Cline and wife, Shannon of St. Louis, MO; Jeff Cline and wife, Dawn of St. Louis, MO; Chris Cline of St. Louis, MO; Dan Cline and wife, Janet of St. Louis, MO and Dawn Dicandia and husband, Nick of St. Louis, MO; brother, T.J. Feeler and wife, Lynn of Sikeston, MO; thirteen grandchildren: Cody (Jamie), Megan, Braxton (Miranda), Amy (Jake), Garrett (Lydia), Avery, Macy, Charlie, Rosie, Jasmine, Regan, Amber, and Chloe; and four great grandchildren: River, Oliver, Mia, and Ellis. He is further survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alma Feeler; and brother, Norman Feeler.

Sonny's interests led him to several different jobs in his career. In the mid-60s, he worked as the park superintendent at Maramec Springs for the James Foundation. He oversaw the building of the swinging bridge and the museum. In the early 70s, he purchased the cement business from the Verkamp family. He operated the Feeler RediMix/Feeler Sand and Gravel for several years. Before retiring to the family farm, he and Joyce operated Comfort Systems, and he was a contractor for Suburban Journal Newspaper in Fenton.

Sonny loved talking with family and friends. He loved family gatherings and the chance to catch up with the latest happenings or to spin tales of times past. Conversations with Sonny always included laughter as well as proposing ways to add some mischief to the mix of events. In the last few years, he owned and lived on the family farm that his great grandfather Archibald (Squire) Feeler homesteaded in 1857. He enjoyed tending to the farm and raising his cattle, but most of all, he looked forward to the special times that brought his children and grandchildren to the farm. Deer season was anticipated and planned for months before its arrival, and its stories were talked about for months and years after it had come and gone. Like deer season, he was always ready for turkey and quail seasons. Stories of the olden days, teaching his grandkids to shoot, honoring his elders, lending a helping hand to his neighbor and respect for the land are just a few of the treasures that Sonny shared with his family.

Sonny was a cornerstone whose infectious smile, contagious personality, and love for life will be cherished eternally.

His lessons, love, and legacy will carry through the generation of his life.

His family will have a Celebration of Sonny's Life with family and friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Vichy firehouse in Vichy, MO from 2-4 PM. The burial of ashes will be at Ozark Memorial Gardens beside his sister, Alma and his mom and dad at a private graveside service.
