Walter Arthur Dillon of St. James passed away Thursday November 17, 2011 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. He was 63 years 4 months and 30 days of age.

Walter Dillon was born June 18, 1948 in Phelps County, the son of the late Arthur and Lillian Kean Dillon.

On August 3, 1968 in Rolla, Walter was united in marriage to Katie Hoffman.

Walter was a hard worker. He retired from the United Telephone Company after 29 years. Walter grew up helping his dad with the Clay Mining Co. Walter and his wife Katie owned and operated the K & W Dillon Trucking and Clay Mining. Walter loved to hunt deer and fish and work on trucks.

Walter is survived by one son: Jeff Hoffman and Lana Moriarty of St. James and one daughter: Stacey Dillon of the home in St. James. Brother: Bernard Dillon of St. James, Sisters: Peggy Dillon of O'Fallon and Susan Dillon of Austin, Texas. Sister-in-law Donna Jones and husband Carl along with Brother-in-law Chuck Shackelford and wife Vicky of Rolla, Mo. along with two grandchildren Christopher and Shane Stotler along with one great-grandchild Copper Stotler.,nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Walter is preceaded in death by his parents, wife - Katie Dillon and one brother Gary Dillon.

Services
Visitation for Walter Dillon will be held from 12 noon Sunday November 20, 2011 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 20, 2011, at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association. cards are available at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James
