Sylvia Diane Frey, of St. James, Missouri passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, at Aurora Health and Rehab in Rolla, Missouri. Diane, the daughter of Harry Williams and Alice Neale was born on March 11, 1943, in St. James, Missouri. She was 83 years of age.

Diane graduated from John F. Hodge High School in St. James, Missouri, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to service and kindness. She was a lifelong resident who deeply cherished her community and the relationships she built throughout her life. She pursued a meaningful career as a senior companion, a role in which she found great fulfillment by helping others in her community. Her dedication and compassionate spirit were recognized when she was honored with the Senior Companion of the Month award, a testament to the impact she made on those around her.

Her faith was an integral part of her life. Diane found comfort and joy in reading the Bible and was a devoted attendee of First Baptist Church. Her spirituality guided her through life's challenges and inspired those who knew her.

Beyond her commitment to service and faith, Diane enjoyed a variety of hobbies that brought her peace and happiness. She delighted in sewing and had a fondness for watching classic westerns, particularly those in black and white. These simple pleasures reflected her appreciation for tradition and the warmth of familiar pastimes.

Diane treasured the moments spent catching up with friends and staying connected to the events in their lives, embodying a sincere and caring personality that touched everyone she met.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Rhonda Kelley and Alicia Gabel and husband, Scott, both of St. James, Missouri. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Seth Frey, who had a special relationship with his grandmother; Hunter Frey and his wife, Tiffany; and Elania Tanner and her husband, Mike. Diane’s spirit also lives on in her great-grandchildren: Tyler Matlock, Michael Tanner Jr., Dakota Tanner, Lily Frey and eagerly awaiting the blessing of a fifth grandchild.

Her life was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her husband Clifton Frey, and her daughter Sharon Seddon.

Sylvia Diane Frey’s enduring kindness, faith, and dedication to her family and community will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the privilege to know her. Her gentle spirit and generous heart leave a lasting imprint that will continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.

Her ashes will be interred next to her husband's grave at Wishon Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
